Compliance
Our core values
Black Elk Energy is founded on the principles of people, the environment, and community. The behavior of its staff is critical to Black Elk Energy's success. Therefore, our workforce is carefully selected, trained, and regularly tested for efficiency and accuracy. We work diligently to comply with all local, state and federal regulations with a focus on safety for our team and for the environment. Our field and inter-office personnel work together on a close basis to ensure that all documentation and reporting is current and provided to the pertinent governmental body. To ensure compliance, Black Elk Energy has developed a comprehensive functional emergency plan called the Integrated Contingency Plan (ICP). This plan has been prepared to assist the facility in responding to releases of oil and/or non-radiological hazardous substances. The plan is available to all employees, their representatives, OSHA personnel, and other governmental agencies for inspection and copying. The ICP satisfies the requirements of all jurisdictions in which Black Elk Energy operates including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), and The Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
