On November 29th, John Hoffman, President and CEO of Black Elk Energy, met with family members of those directly affected from the incident that occurred on November 16th to express his condolences and sorrow. He also expressed his gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the Filipino workers. We continue to work in close cooperation with government officials to understand exactly what happened in this incident.

Louisiana officials confirmed today the identity of one of the missing workers, Jerome Malagapo, who was found on November 26th. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. We continue to work in close cooperation with government officials to understand exactly what happened in this incident.

We were very saddened to learn Avelino Tajonera, one of the workers injured in the Nov. 16, 2012, incident, passed away last night, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family. We continue to work in close cooperation with government officials to understand exactly what happened in this incident.

Based on the advice and counsel of search rescue experts who have been engaged in this effort since the outset, Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations, LLC announced Tuesday evening it will suspend formal search and rescue efforts after more than 100 hours.

Black Elk Expanding Search for Missing Worker

Black Elk is expanding and enhancing its efforts to locate a worker who is still missing. This morning, we hired a second and third commercial dive boat and initiated a beach search with Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Department. We have also contacted all helicopter companies that fly in the area to help visual search efforts. In addition, tomorrow we will search the impacted area and other locations on the platform with a search & rescue dog.

Houston, TX – 16 November 2024 – Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations, LLC confirmed that a fire ignited Friday morning on the company's platform located at West Delta 32 Block, located in the Gulf of Mexico approximately 17 miles southeast of Grand Isle, La. There were 22 workers on the platform at the time of the incident. Two individuals have yet to be accounted for and an aggressive search and rescue effort is underway. Nine workers were injured and are now being treated at a number of hospitals in the New Orleans area. Eleven workers were safely evacuated.

Houston, TX – 17 October 2024 – Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations, LLC, an independent oil and gas company, announced today their Board of Managers has approved a 23 well capital campaign that will begin monetizing the companies "proved undeveloped reserve" inventory. Black Elk Energy plans to begin drilling and major rig work on the first of the 23 wells beginning in November of 2012. The program's development costs are projected below $12/boe. The launch of this development program will mark the beginning of a multiple year project.

Houston, TX – 26 March 2025 – Black Elk Energy, an independent oil & gas company, announces their 4th annual Empowering the Community charity event, featuring pro golfers, celebrities and executives in the energy industry. This year's event will be three days, beginning May 5th at the Sweetwater Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas. Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Louisiana Association of Community Action Partnerships (LACAP) to assist qualified low income households with their utility bills. These funds will also support LACAP in creating jobs and improving communities, maintaining a vocational training center to train the underemployed or unemployed, while addressing some of the root causes of poverty.

Houston, TX – 14 July 2025 – Black Elk Energy, an independent oil and gas company, announced today the launch of a Gulf of Mexico environmental initiative called "Save the Blue". The proposed initiative is a cooperative effort intended to protect and preserve ecosystems existing around oil and gas structures. Save the Blue calls for an ecosystem study to be performed near the end of an oil & gas platform's useful life. If a thriving ecosystem exists, the program recommends that deck, well and pipeline abandonment of the facility be safely conducted as stipulated by regulations, but allows the structure to remain in place to protect and preserve the marine life that has formed a habitat on and around the structure.

Houston, Texas – 1 June 2025 – Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations, LLC, ("Black Elk"), an independent oil and gas company, announced today that it closed on its Purchase & Sale Agreement with a private equity company to acquire 40 fields with current production of approximately 8,200 net BOEPD. This acquisition includes a geographically diversified set of Gulf of Mexico assets with significant proved non-producing and proved undeveloped opportunities. This transaction represents the eighth acquisition by Black Elk since 2008. The purchase includes 399 wells, with an estimated 20 net million barrel equivalent of proven reserves.

Black Elk Energy has hurricane season 2011 on its mind while planning for its third annual Empowering the Community charity event.

Houston, TX – 12 April 2025 – June 1st is just around the corner and along with the skyrocketing temperatures, the sweltering summer months herald in the pending danger of hurricane season. States like Texas and Louisiana have a watchful eye out on the Gulf of Mexico for the 2011 hurricane season and are hoping that this year will again bring calm waters. The hurricane seasons of 2005 and 2008 were devastating for many individuals and businesses in Louisiana and Texas. Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Ike and Gustav caused billions in property damages, left many families stranded, homeless, and took the lives of many in their path of destruction. Houston, Texas – 04 October 2024 – Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations, LLC, ("Black Elk") an independent oil and gas company, announced today it closed a major transaction with JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation (NOEX) to acquire 27 properties in the Gulf of Mexico. The NOEX transaction represents the fifth acquisition by Black Elk since 2008. The NOEX purchase includes 19 fields, with an estimated 15 million barrel equivalent (87 bcfe) of proven reserves, and probable upside in excess of 51 million barrel equivalents (304 bcfe). The acquisition gives Black Elk an aggregate interest in more than 650 wells on 111 platforms located across 406 thousand gross acres offshore and significantly enhances its position in the Gulf of Mexico. The NOEX acquired assets increase Black Elk's net production from approximately 6,000 to 12,200 barrel oil equivalents per day or 73.2 million cubic feet gas equivalent per day (57% liquids).
