Houston, TX - 21 August 2024 - An explosion and fire during a construction project last November on a Gulf of Mexico oil production platform operated by Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations, LLC occurred after contractors failed to follow standard safety practices, a third-party investigator has concluded. The platform is located at West Delta 32 Block in the Gulf of Mexico, 17 miles south east of Grand Isle, La.
After a thorough eight-month investigation, ABSG Consulting found that, while production was shut in, workers welded on piping that was connected to a tank containing crude oil and flammable oil vapors without following Black Elk Energy's safety practices.

Houston, TX – 30 July 2024 – Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations, LLC ("Black Elk Energy"), an independent oil and gas company headquartered in Houston, announced a second successful flow test conducted on July 25, 2025 at the Ship Shoal Block 198, Well No. I-8 Sidetrack. The flow test reported an average rate of 859 barrels of oil per day at 1,700 psi flowing tubing pressure. In addition to current completion, Black Elk Energy encountered over 20 reservoirs uphole that are behind pipe for future development consideration.

The lawsuit alleged that BEEOO's management and its majority shareholder breached its fiduciary duties, specifically claiming that management caused the November 16, 2024 fire and explosion on the West Delta 32 platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

This is the first of a four well capital campaign at Ship Shoal Block 198. The well was tested and is flowing at an average rate of 480 barrels of oil per day. The flowing tubing pressure was 1,980psi on a 15" choke.

Houston, TX - 10 June 2025 - Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations, LLC ("Black Elk Energy"), an independent oil and gas company headquartered in Houston, and their partner, SCL Resources, LLC, announced today they have conducted a successful flowtest of the recently sidetracked High Island A443 #A5. The GA-Series Lower interval has tested at a stabilized flowrate of 1,200 barrels of oil per day. The flowing tubing pressure was 1,150 psi on a 24/64" choke. The GA-Series oil stringer was also encountered, which is a new reservoir not seen in offset wells.
