Houston, TX – 26 March 2025 – Black Elk Energy, an independent oil & gas company, announces their 4th annual Empowering the Community charity event, featuring pro golfers, celebrities and executives in the energy industry. This year’s event will be three days, beginning May 5th at the Sweetwater Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas. Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Louisiana Association of Community Action Partnerships (LACAP) to assist qualified low income households with their utility bills. The event begins with a Five Star Black Tie Gala on Saturday May 5th that includes libations, dinner, a live auction hosted by former Detroit Pistons player John Salley and an intimate performance by a well-known Texas Country Music Star. On May 6th the event continues with a family friendly BBQ, Chili and Gumbo cook-off that includes great food, a Kids Zone and live performances by Jaryd Lane, the Guzzlers and Kevin Black. Attendees will also have an opportunity to meet professional athletes Gerald McNeil, Roman Harper, Jahri Evans, Lance Moore, Darren Sharper & Malcolm Jenkins. The event concludes with a Celebrity Golf Tournament on May 7th which includes great giveaways and tee shots with PGA players John Daly, Jamie Sadlowski, and LPGA players Blair O’Neal and Alison Walshe.

We hope companies across the energy industry will participate in this very worthwhile endeavor to help the people of Louisiana."
"Giving back to the community is a fundamental principal of our business culture," says John Hoffman, President and CEO of Black Elk Energy. "We are proud to be hosting for the 4th year and have doubled our contribution to the charity every year. This year we will strive to meet that same goal. I hope other leaders in our industry and communities will participate in supporting this important initiative."
